Do people pee in their wetsuits to get warm?

Someone told me that to keep warm, surfers or divers urinate in their wetsuits to keep warm before going in the water. Now i'm not too sure if this is true or not. Can you help me out?

The short term benefits of peeing in your wetsuit is that it will make you warm; however, over the long run it will make you colder. The "good" of peeing in your wetsuit: --expelling mass that you body doesn't have to heat any more --holding it in for a long duration can actaully be harmful to you body --urine is sterile when it leaves your body. So having it in contact with you doesn't hurt. Urine is a breeding ground for bacteria, that is why we flush it. The "bad" of peeing in your wetsuit: --The warm feeling of the urine actaully dilates your pores making your skin think it is warming. After the warm feeling fades, you are left with wide open pores and colder temperatures seeping in. --Many people will let water in the suit to "flush" away the urine. Even in warm water (like 82F), this is still cooler than your body; therefore, you body has to spend energy warming the new water. --If you have a proper fitting wetsuit, and you don't "flush" the suit before getting back on the boat/shore, you could smell like pee when taking off your wetsuit.
Not to get warm. It actually makes you colder as you lose that body heat. You are only warmed for a moment, then the urine is washed out of the suit. We also only go...when we have no choice. It does stink up the suit a bit.
If you want to have something warm in your wetsuit before going in the water, a thermos full of warm water works nicely. Smells better too. :)
I don't pee in my wetsuit to get warm! I pee because I HAVE to! When I go diving, I always always have to pee while I'm down there. The pressure on my bladder... can't help it. It's gross, yeah, but I got over it quick. I really hate taking off my wetsuit too because it's such a pain to get back on, so I'd rather pee in the ocean than wait till I'm back on the boat to take my wetsuit off. The last time I dove, I wore two wetsuits, one on top of the other, so I sure as hell wasn't going to take both of them off just to pee!
Yes,but I do it because I need to pee...
I do in my wetsuit. But you must flush it out. Drink more fluids to get diluted pee.
